SoftCAT is a database program designed to help you organize your software.
Not only will SoftCAT help you know what you have and where it is, but it
will also help you keep track of important information like serial number,
registration name, and other registration information. You never know when
you NEED this information!
More than 30 data fields will help you track information like program title,
version, publisher, platform, type (commercial, freeware, shareware, etc.),
category (Desktop Enhancements, Games, Utilities, etc.), price, installation
date, installation folder, product homepage, serial number, and registration
name.
You can password protect your database to prevent unwanted users from
opening your database. Use the backup function to make backup copies of your
valuable data. SoftCAT uses pop-up menus for quick access and navigation.
SoftCAT comes with a sample database to get you started and a comprehensive
context-sensitive on-line help system.
SoftCAT is intuitive and easy-to-use, and you will soon find that SoftCAT is
all you ever need to keep track of your software.
What's new:
- The Find function is now available in all data entry windows.
- Resize Image window: Removed image size restriction.
- It is now possible to change the size of all thumbnail images (select the
thumbnail field in the 'Database Setup' - window and then update the Width
and Height properties). Note that to update the size of existing
thumbnails - you must use the Tools->Database Maintenance->Regenerate
Thumbnails function.
- Sort order in Program View is automatically updated after using the Auto
Catalog function.
- Added link to program homepage in Program View explorer pane.
- FIXED: Statistics: Error when selecting a custom lookup table.
- FIXED: Grouping definitions: "Include empty" setting not saved for group

- FIXED: Error when trying to close program if network connection was lost.
- FIXED: Problem selecting program file in data entry window.
- FIXED: Import Text File: Problem importing sub-category.
- FIXED: Export Text File: Problem exporting numeric fields.
