How can I get rid of an unwanted link that appears in the
menu when I right-click on the background in Internet
Explorer 6? Is there any way to edit this?

You'll need to edit the registry. The relevant key is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt
