Unwanted Desktop Change

I use Iconoid as a very useful programme to fix my chosen Desktop Icons
in position and up to recently it has been brilliant. Unfortunately is
seems to have "lost its grip" as every time I re-boot my PC all the
Icons rush over to the left-hand side of my Desktop and I have to use
Iconoid to restore them to their old positions.
What is happening and how do I fix this?

This is an issue with this particular program and you should contact
Iconoid for tech support with their software.

For what its worth, here is the reply I sent to Derrick on his query.

| Hi Derrick,
| I'm not certain what is happening, but it sounds
| similar to what I've seen. It appears that Windows
| does not remember the icon positions as set by
| programs like Iconoid. What will cause it to save the
| positions itself is any manual movement of an icon.
| In other words, after Iconoid restores the positions to
| saved locations, if you manually move an icon, even a
| tiny bit, Windows will then remember all of the
| positions. I don't know why it doesn't recognize
| cnanges made other ways, but that seems to be the
| situation.
