Unwanted choice

After a failed attempt to re-install Windows XP home I now have two
choices on booting.
Windows XP & Windows XP setup. This is, I think, caused by residual
files from the aborted
"re-install". Where would the unwanted files be stored & how would I
get rid of them?
TIA for any help gratefully received.

Click on Start/Control Panel/System/Advanced and edit the boot file.
Carefully delete the part that starts up the 're-install'.
