unvise32qt.exe was found from MS anti-spyware as a
spyware on my computer. I was at 1st suprised to see that
MS anti-spyware found something malicious on my computer,
as it was the 1st time.. and i was wondering how i got
that. I had 1st back up the file and then let MS anti-
spyware to delete it. Then i did a search about that file
and i saw that in some websites it said that it was
actually a backdoor or a trojan. Then i found some other
websites mentioning Quick Time player. Then bam! It came
to my mind! I tried to Unistalled and.. guess what! The
file for the unistallation was missing! It was actually
the file that MS anti-spyware said it was an adware..!!!
Oh and i scanned the file with all the other known and
famous antiviruses and they all said that it was clean

Best Regards.

Yes, this detection with the latest set of definitions, and consisting of
only this file, in \windows appears to be a false positive.

Well, there were some updates today too, and after i had
updated the definitions, i scanned my computer but this
time MS AntiSpyware did NOT detect the file.
By the way, i'm curious to find out what that unistaller
file does, and MS AntiSpyware Team has set it as an
adware. I mean i haven't noticed anything wrong going on,
on my computer. No adverts or popups, or anything that
would make me suspicious that i am infected. So, any
information about the file.. ?

The file is the uninstaller for Apple QuickTime, in versions before 7.x--not
sure what the range of version numbers would be--6..5.2 for sure. It looks
like it is left behind when you upgrade 6.x to 7.x. Not sure if it is left
behind after an uninstall.

The false positive is fixed with the new definition set 5755, along with one
other.
