untitled BMP

When I Rt Click and save a picture from an email or on the web it is always
saved as a "untitled" bitmap, with

no option to change the file type. This occurs even when friends send me
JPGs and I Rt. Click to save and I

KNOW it's a JPEG and not a BMP. My computer didn't used to do this, It
used to save any picture using the

name of the file and not "untitled". It also would save the picture in
whatever format it happened to be in and

not a BMP every time or would give me the option to save the file as a BMP
or JPG.
Does anybody know how to fix this?
PS I'm using XP PRO - though I'm not one...
Thanx,

Go to Start > Run and type: CLEANMGR.EXE , and hit enter.
This will start your disk cleanup utility. Make sure to cleanup
your Temporary Internet Files.

Your computer is clogged with cookies and temporary internet files, disabling
it to display graphics in JPG format. Open Internet Explorer and click tools
then Internet Options and click Delete cookies, delete files including offline
content. Clear History.
Click Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk cleanup
and check if Temporary files have been deleted. Reboot. Also recommend:

This happens if the indexes of the Temporary Internet Files get
overloaded. In Control Panel - Internet Options, in the temporary
Internet files section on the General page, click 'Delete files'. Then
I suggest click Settings and reduce the space allowed - 50 MB is
probably generous, and on big drives it tends to choose by default a
setting that is so high that this overload happens
