Unspecified Script Error

G

Guest

I am running on Windows XP and IE6 and have just purchased and successfully
download McAfee Internet Security Suite 7.

Whenever I open any of the McAfee programs i.e security centre, privacy
service, etc. I receive the following script error.

Internet Explorer Script Error

An error has occurred on this page

Line: 1
Char: 1
Error: Unspecified error
Code: 0
URL: mcp://c:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\agent\scui.dll::McDash.htm?Appld=

I have downloaded the Microsoft script editor and have reconfigured my
browser settings, however this doesn't help.

Can anyone assist?

Thanks

Hi Ridgeback :)

See if the folowwing helps:

Disable the McAfee ActiveX controls Applet filters in the Internet Filter
window when you select Customize your VShield settings

"Your current security settings prohibit running Active X controls on this
page. As a result pages may not display correctly."
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/acxen.htm
or
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN;Q319585&LN=EN

also...

Disable the Script Debugger in IE (Line 142) - Win XP
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

or...

Go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced.
Check the box to "Disable script debugging."
Uncheck the box to "Display a notification about every script error."

Hope this helps :)
