Unrecognised Database Format

I have a .mdb file which was written in Access 97.

I've tried opening it in Access 97 / 2000 / 2002 / 2003 and everytime it
comes up with Unrecognised Database Format.

I've tried to convert it using the Conversion Tool in the programme itself
and the one you can download from the Microsoft website but still nothing.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get into this?
