Unread email showing in welcome screen.

I just got done installing MS Accounting 2006 when this 1st happened, I check
ALL of my email and the one listed from my domain shows up as all read but
the welcome screen is still telling me there are 3 messeges that are unread!

I need to keep this alert but - restating, marking ALL messegs as read and
looking under my unread mail show nothing unusual stuck - but the login is
still showing 3 unread... I looked exactly at the account it was referring to
but it's still sticking around.

annoying but I'm not going through the re-installation of my software to get
rid of an incorrect message...

That count is messages from any number of accounts. Do you have a Hotmail
or MSN account that might have unread messages, for example?

Go to windows registry to the key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\

On the right hand change the DWORD-Value "MessageExpiryDays" to "0".

My registry does not reflect that entry exists.

This website will tell you how to create that entry if you do not have it:

http://www.maxabout.com/computech/os/win/tips/showarticle.aspx?ID=1239

When you go into your registry editor and navigate to the proper location,
right click on your email account under the UnreadMail folder and select New
--> DWORD and create the DWORD the website tells you to. I haven't done it
yet, but am planning on doing it as I am running into the same false email
notification problem. I hope this might help.
