Unlocking a Database in order to Edit Info

I am trying to unlock a database program in order to edit the information
with no luck. I imported data from FP Bento into something similar to the
Home Contents Inventory database template but made from a new Form, then
tried to update the information in a cell but had no luck with
adding/deleting information. My IT DB rep ( who deals mostly with Oracle)
suggested I should find and delete the LDB file which should unlock the
database. I did that (at least I think I did) and then tried to work on the
cells but am still having the same problem in either the Form or Datasheet
view- I can't backspace or add anything new. I created a database of my home
inventory on my Mac using Bento by Filemaker and want to share this with my
wife on her Office/Access so she can do her own inputting of data while I am
deployed. Any suggestions would be grealty appreciated. Thanks,

There are no 'cells' in Access so I'm confused what you mean?
If you mean you cannot update columns, what happens when you try? Are you
getting an error message? Does the screen title say 'read only'. If so,
someone else has locked the database.

What I mean is that I cannot go into each column to update or delete
information. I can't backspace, I can't type. Nothing. There are no Error
messages and the file is not Read Only.

Try creating a brand new empty database, then importing (right click then
choose import in designer) the form and tables (with data) into it.
Then retry editing the data.
