Hi, I'm experiencing a few problems with unistalling certain programs on my
pc. When trying to uninstall programs I sometimes get an error message that
reads 'could not find INSTALL.LOG' and I am un-able to uninstall the
program. Any way I can get around this?

Hi Ty,

That is usually a file that is created when the program is initially
installed containing information about the installation location and what
files were placed in the system folders. If it is missing, the easiest way
to recreate it is to reinstall the program, then you should be able to
uninstall it. If that doesn't work, then you may or may not want to remove
it manually, which means hunting and pecking through the system folders for
related files, and scanning through the registry for references which may
not always be easily recognizable. A third alternative is to contact support
for the program itself, as some vendors do provide uninstall utilities for
their software.

One thing to try is reinstall the program, then uninstall it. Sometimes
that will replace a missing file. Another option is to go to Start |
All Programs and look in the listing for that program. Is there an
uninstaller listed there? If so use that.

Here is what I do, and it has never caused me any problems.

Go to the program folder that contains the install.log file,
rename the file to 1uninstall.log (or similar)
Double click on the unwise.exe file.
A dialogue box comes up looking for the install.log file,
rename the file it is looking for to 1install.log and click OK.
The uninstall will continue, when it is finished, reboot and delete the
program folder.
I have done this often and it has been 100% successful.
