uninstalling Vista Home

I have used XP Pro on this computer for over two years, i bought Vista..i
dont like it at all, and want to go back to XP Pro, but i get a message
telling me , that as i have a newer version of windows, my computer is not
compatable for Xp pro

Hello,

put the XP CD in and restart Windows. Then, boot from CD and choose to
format the harddisk (and so Vista). Formatting is the only right way to
uninstall Vista.

If for whatever reason you can not boot to the XP install disk... then ...
boot to the Vista DVD and advance to the screen (no need to enter code) that
has utilities. (forget the exact name) From there you can delete the Vista
partition. The XP cd should then boot and away you go.

It almost sounds like you're trying to install WinXP from within Vista.
You "can't get there from here."
