Uninstalling Issue (System Administrator Error)

I downloaded the free trial of Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8.0 and it expired.
However, now I have the actual version, but Vista won't let me install it
without uninstalling the trial. It won't let me do that either. It comes up
with an error message about the system administrator setting policies against
this installation (even though i am an administrator) and that I don't have
enough access to the program to uninstall it. Anyone else have this problem?

(Please tell me if I put this in the wrong Discussion Group; I wasn't
positive where this should go)

Give this a try:
Open the Run command (Windows key + R)
Type gpedit.msc
OK
Navigate to 'Local Computer Policy > Computer configuration > Administrator
templates > Windows Components > Windows installer > select 'Disable Windows
Installer'.

Open back the Run Command
type in MSCONFIG
OK
Under 'General' (tab) > Startup select 'Diagnostic Startup'
Click 'OK'
Restart when prompted

Try uninstalling the Sony Vegas software

Open back the Run Command
type in MSCONFIG
OK
Under 'General' (tab) > Startup select 'Normal Startup'
Click 'OK'
Restart when prompted

Boot from your Windows Vista DVD, select the System Repair Option > on the
setup screen, select 'Repair Computer > Select your installation of Windows
select Startup Repair option and follow instructions.

I'm sorry, but that didn't work either. All that did was mess up my display
and shut off everything, windows installer, internet, etc. I'm sorry this is
being such a bother.
