I seem to be having problems with Intenet Explorer - when having problems
with it in XP, you could go to the control panel, add/remove programs, add
remove windows components, uninstall and reinstall Internet Explorer and
that would fix the problem. Does anyone know how to do this exact same thing
in Windows Vista. I feel like a dunce, it is probably right in front of my
face and I cannot find it! Thanks in advance!

IE cannot be uninstalled on Vista as it is an operating system component.
All you could do is a repair install.

Not quite right. The majority of IE7 problems are linked with add ons
and activeX components from third party vendors which utterly stuff
the operation.

Go to internet options from either control panel or tools in IE7
itself. Click the Advanced tab nd then click reset. That gets rid of
the assorted rubbish that accumulates and should restore Internet
Explorer to a sensible state.

You will need to reset preferences like the search supplier and when
you go back to sites that need activeX components, you may need to
download and install them again. I recommend making a note of what
asks for permission to install and the point at which IE stops
behaving. That way you can link the one to the other and work out
what is messing it up.

Then you can disable that plugin from the Programs - Manage Addons
button.

Hope this helps.
