Uninstall Install Office 2003 Pro on XP

I backed up and restored my C drive. I now get a message when I start Word.
"An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly.
Please run setup and select “Repair…†to restore this application." I click
OK and Word seems to run okay. Excel, PP, all seem okay.
I put the Office CD in and go to Add/Remove Programs, click Support – Repair
- an Installing form comes up and the CD runs for a few seconds. I click
Remove and a form blinks.
I go to Explore - CD drive – Setup.exe and get a Windows Installer form that
says:
“No valid sequence could be found for the set of patches.â€
Two Office updates failed to load.
I tried to erase office from Program Files and it made no difference.
Is there another way to remove Office so I can install a clean copy?
Thanx for any help.

That's a Windows Installer error.

You guys are disgusting. I have these unsolvable problems and you come up
with the proper fix in seconds. I don’t know how you can be so smart and me
be so dumb. Thanx once again for your knowledge and experience.
