Uninstall and Install Palm software on Windows XP Pro

We have uninstalled Palm V 4.1 from XP Pro machine.
Cannot reinstall the software getting error:
1607 Unable to install installshield scripting runtime

I have searched the windows database for answers and can't
find any? Anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this
problem?

according to palm, if you have win xp, then you need the palm 5 desktop. 4
doesn't work. you can download the new software from the palm one website. i
think which download you choose is determined by the "flavor" of palm that
you have (mine was a handspring.)
palm 5 softwarre works perfectly on win xp pro
