Unexpected Windows shutdown ...

Hello Group:

My computer problem may be heat related but I have checked the fan as well
as the disk and they both check out OK. My problem is that the laptop shuts
down at times without warning. Is there a log file which can be setup to
detect which processes are running and which one may have shut down the
computer.

Let me thank you in advance for your assistance and advice.

try
Start
Run
type

eventvwr.msc

click OK

Event Viewer opens take a look at the logs in there for clues.

Thanks for all the suggestions. My laptop has W2K Server, SP4 and it shuts
down whether connected to the net or not.

A little more information from the event viewer.

As well, it is telling me after the fact that the shutdown was unexpected.

Any suggestions?
