unexpected Windows Explorer crash?

System:
Win Pro SP 2, IE 7
NIS 2007

Window Explorer unexpectently closes!

This happens when I switch from "IE Explorer 7" to "My Documents."
Windows Explorer informs me that it has to close and generates an eror report.

(Unfortunately the error report doesn't make any sense to me.)

Looking in theevent viewer I found the following entry:

"Details
Product: Windows Operating System
Event ID: 1000
Source: Application Error
Version: 5.2
Symbolic Name: ER_USERCRASH_LOG
Message: Faulting application %1, version %2, faulting module %3, version
%4, fault address 0x%5. "

1) Would the information above point towards a solution?
2) Would a system restore rectify Window Explorer problems?
3) Any thoughts on how to repair/deal with/rectify that issue?

Thanks for your advice 9bearing in mind I'm not particularly computer savy..)

The application error indicates 5 arguements, none of which hav been place
in the error statement.
The software designer/development and configuration manager should be shot
for letting this be released like this.

There are items when searching under Google on ER_USERCRASH_LOG.

Thanks, I will try google.
Port of last call:
1) Will a system restore rectify the application error?
2) Is the crash related to a corrupt window explorer.exe of to a
assocciated application?

Thanks in advance
