"Unexpected error...."

Hi there,

I have several websites - one quite largish compared to the others :
28 mb
1692 files
1499 hyperlinks

Very regularly (but not always), when I try to save a file - usually a new
page - I get an error message :
"An unexpected error has occurred. Not enough memory available to complete
operation. Please close other programs......." etc.

I don't close anything, I click 'OK' and the operation completes perfectly
OK, saving the page as normal.
So - it's not life threatening, but a bit irritating, and I'm worried it
might eventually crash completely.

I never have more than 3-4 applications open when this occurs (I've started
checking each time). I'm running XP, FP 2002, and have 1 Gb of RAM.
Any ideas welcome. Thanks.

Could be a corrupt cmdbar file or web cache file
Find and delete cmdui.prf
Usually in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FrontPage\State
And delete all web cache files (*.web)
Usually in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache

OK - will this affect my web at all ? or will the necessary files be
regenerated when I next open the web ?

All you will lose are any toolbar customizations you may have made (which you can redo)
The meta data will be recreated when you open & close your site
