Understanding the Windows Address Book

Hello Everybody

Am I correct in assuming that the "windows address book system" integrates
with outlook express? I think this is correct, but could someone tell me if
this integrates and is one and the same with the outlook address book
system. Therefore is it possible to administor the address from either of
the three points. Eg. Windows xp address book via accessories, via outlook
express and/or outlook office 2003? Further more do people generally use
this Address book for organising personal contact files or do people
generally recommend third party address book solutions?
Thanks in advance.

Address book will use either it's own address book (wab files) or Outlook's address book if installed. But I don't install Outlook (as I have HATRED for OL) so look on address book's menu for a dialog to change the store it's using..

Outlook Express uses the Windows Address Book.

The WAB does not work with any MS Office programs.

wab.exe is the Windows Address Book, located here...

C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\wab.exe

Your WAB will have a wab extension, i.e. yourname.wab, usually located
here...

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Application Data\Microsoft\Address
Book
