Unable to write email to the mailbox

All of a sudden my email has stopped working. I'm getting the
following message when I try to download my email from my Verizon
server:

Unable to write email to the mailbox. Make sure the system allows you
write privileges, and you have enough disc space to copy the mailbox.

I'm not computer savy. For that reason, I never switched to Thunderbox
and Firefox when Netscape 7.1 support was discontinued. (Also because
I have so many email addresses (email) and bookmarks (browser) saved
that I didn't know their file location and couldn't bear the arduous
task of putting each one over one-at-a-time to a new location.

Now I'm stuck. Can anyone advise me, please?

Firstly, you will have to include such information as ;

Windows version (OS) ;
Email Application (Client) ;
...plus your email provider and any other email settings that you can manage
to determine are configured in your chosen email program.

....to be able to be of any help to yourself.

Hi Tim,
OS: My PC runs Windows XP SP3
My email client is Netscape 7.1, as is my browswer. This is the last
version where Mosilla combined their email & browser client. I think
it was 2007 that they stopped supporting Netscape 7.1.
Verizon is my DSL ISP.My email doesn't use any encryption or certificates. My hard drive
has a lot of space available, don't know how or if this ties into
copying the mailbox (see the error message I'm getting). And I don't
understand what it's talking about (write privileges).

Again, the error message it's giving: "Unable to write email to the
mailbox. Make sure the system allows you write privileges, and you
have enough disc space to copy the mailbox.

Check out my insertions below.

Thanks for giving this thought.

"Thunderbox" should be Thunderbird.

"email addresses" are contacts' names & addresses

Seamonkey has superseded Netscape as a Browser/Mail suite. For security
reasons, you should update. Even better (IMHO...), use the Firefox
browser and Thunderbird separately for mail and newsgroups.

Thunderbox (I like that name better) will probably import your email
addresses from Netscape, maybe when you install thunderbox if you
answer the wquestion right, and maybe later too if you go to the
drop-down menu option. I haven't checked to be sure this is true, but
it usually is lately. It will import your own email address and maybe
the password too.

Firefox I have running and it definitely has an two options, import
options bookmarks, history, passwords, and other data from 1) internet
explorer or 2) Netscape 6, 7, or Mozilla 1.x.

You should still save everything in your netscape 7 until you are sure
every think made it to the other programs, especially passwords (I
save my passwords also in a mailbox, which I have backed up also.)
When I took a long trip witha laptop, I printed out screen images of
my passwords in Firefox, and I went through the entries in that
mailbox looking for anything I might need when I was out of the
country for 2 months.

If you ever need to discuss your problem with your ISP, you should
probaboly pretend you're using outlook express or internet explorer.
That's all they know often (all they "support"), and if you say you're
using something else, they just say, We only suupport....

I think "Elmo" is familiar with the Email client you are using, and has
provided a reasonable suggestion, so you should go with that, as I've not
had any experience with Netscape 7.1, and would have to continue asking you
further questions about it's operation (such as "Is there a setting in the
program that chooses where the email "store" or "folder store" is located,
and where would that location be if set?").

All incoming emails are saved to one folder, Inbox.slt I believe.. If
it's overloaded with messages and has gotten too large, or the file is
corrupted, that can cause the error message. If you find the file and
rename it, a new one should be created. If you try compacting the
"folder", that might correct any bad pointers and get the file where
it's writable again.

Email me and I will use Teamviewer to attempt fix the file, and/or get
your contacts and email transferred to Thunderbird or Sea Monkey,
whichever you might prefer.

Elmo, I've sent you an email. Hope it explains everything. Just now
I'm reading my email at verizon.net. Although I can't download email,
I am able to use Netscape 7.1 mail for composing and sending email.
For the time being I'll have to settle for that until I've dealt with
the family emergency and settled everything.

Thanks Elmo and everyone.
