unable to view shared folders and files

Everytime I try to see other shared files via the "view workgroup computers",
I see the other computers on my network but I am unable to access any files
on them. I get the following error:

\\Laptop is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the network administrator of this servicer to find
out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found.

Can someone help me get access to my own computers, where I am the network
administrator - I must be missing something somewhere.

Check out the thread entitled "Not Allowed Access To Other Network PC's"
started by ceesconerd on 7/26 for some useful info.

Since you're using the web interface to the newsgroups, you won't be able to
access/use these groups to their fullest capacity. I suggest you try using a
newsreader instead. It's a lot easier to do nearly everything that way. You
can mark messages to be watched, filter the views so you can see replies to
your posts easily, and search.

The Microsoft public news server is msnews.microsoft.com and you can
subscribe to as many groups as you like; no authentication is required.
