Unable to view files on xp desktop from my vista notebook

I was able to setup a network & can see the vista files on my notebook from
my xp home edition desktop, however I can not access the xp desktop from the
vista. I am able to see the desktop however when I try to open it I receive
the following message:I go to browse & I see both
computers but when I try to access the XP computer I am told "\\xxxxxx is not
accessible. You may not have permission to use this network resource. Contact
the administrator of this
server to find out if you have access permissions. access is denied.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Check the Security tab to make sure Everyone is set to Read and no
firewalls are blocking. If Vista's firewal is enabled, make sure under
the Exception that 'File and Printer Sharing' has been selected to allow
this type of traffic.
