I Have 2 XP desktops and 1 Vista notebook.ALL of the computers can SEE each
other BUT when I try to Access one of the XP desktops from the vista
notebook and or the other XP desktop I get error message" \\computer is not
accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource.Contact
administrator of this server to find out if you have access
permissions."Access is denied.
Oddly enough the xp desktop that CANNOT be accessed ,CAN access files on the
other xp desktop and the Vista notebook.
I have disabled all firewalls on all 3 computers.Workgroup name is the same
on all computers, checked and rechecked Network and Sharing in Vista Premium.
Thanking for any assistance

I have the same problem, 2 desktops on XP, 1 laptop on xp and 1 desktop on
Vista. I can also see all computers on the workgroup but there is one
machine on XP that wont let any of the other machines view its shared files
etc, but it is able to view all the other machines files and i am able to
view and share files on the the other 3 (its doing my head in anyone got any
ideas??) Ive ajusted the settings in firewalls to allow the computers IP
address' Ive checked the shared setting and they all seem to be the same, but
i am not a computer programer so dont like to fiddle to deep in case it all
goes wrong!!!!!!!!!!!

I check on the over internet and microsoft support center, there is no
solution to it,
except wipe put the whole hard driver and start it over, this is a big bug
on the
microsoft windows XP/VISTA. so far I don't see any best solution .
many answers are suggested by the support center, but no cure at all .

This is nonsense. Network troubleshooting is not complex most of the time,
especially in home settings.

The important thing is to post in a group where the proper expertise is
available and stick with the problem until resolved.

This is not the right group, but there are a number of networking related
Microsoft groups that would be appropriate. I posted a link to one of them.
