Unable To View Copied Photos - HELP!

I copied photos to a cd and while I can view the cd's contents on my home pc,
I can't view them on a friend's pc. When copying the photos to the cd, I was
asked to "format" the cd first. I used a CD-R (Memorex) Recordable and that
usually doesn't happen. The

How did you copy? Using XP "Copy to CD" command, or using something like
Roxio or Nero?
If you used XP, you can read it only on XP machine unless you do something
to make it compatible with older system. If you used Roxio, it usually ask
you before ejecting the disc if you want to make it viewable on other
computers. If you used Nero, I don't know.
