I am on a domain environment with a SUS and I am unable to update the
definions. I receive error 0x8024002b.

Any ideas?

I am in the same boat as Paul E Lendman. I get the same error, am also in a
domain environment with a SUS. The URL below while helpful to the sys
admins, is not helpful to me. I am in a large company and don't even know
who manages the SUS servers. I know with certain apps, if you use a manual
proxy spec, you can bypass the autoproxy and get out. I was looking
for/wondering if MS Defender has a place to specify this. I don't know if
this would help us or not, but thought it was something to try if there is a
way to configure it.

Thoughts?
Thanks,

I've done a little digging around and have found that the problem is the SUS
server. It only serves up updates for IE and the OS. The new WSUS has the
ability to serve up updates for a lot of things, including Office, Defender,
driver updates, etc. My company has a WSUS server that is in test mode, and
they have given me access to use it now. I am told that while trying to get
'force' an update 'manually' will not work, letting it run automagically will
work. In fact, by turning off automatic updates, and then turning it back
on, it did find, download, and install a bunch of updates, including 2 for
Defender.

Hope that helps...

I'm glad to hear that, because in a pure SUS environment where WSUS is not
available yet, and AutoUpdate and WindowsUpdate are locked out, I don't have
ideas that work yet.

I still suspect it is possible to move the sigs manually between
installations but haven't even looked at testing that yet.

I seem to be in the same boat, SUS, locked autoupdates and no way to
update Defender

You are locked out of WindowsUpdate as well?

If so, I don't have a fix.

Windows Defender Sgnatures should be offered via Windows Update--so it
sounds as though you will need to go that route, and get signatures
manually, essentially.
