Like everyone else, I'm getting the following error message after installing
Windows Defender and trying to update the definitions:

Windows Defender was unable to complete the update: 0x8024002b

I don't think my not-so-computer-savvy family members would know what to do,
much less someone who works in IT like myself.

Any suggestions would be helpful. (I've already tried uninstalling
AS_Sigs.MSI, as well as uninstalling/reinstalling).

If you go to Microsoft update, as another user suggested, it does update the
definitions. I know it seems clunky, but keep in mind, this is still a very
recently released Beta product. I'm sure this will get worked out.

Sweet...at our company, we're still using Windows Update (through SUS) and I
found that I was able to get the definitions through the Windows Update web
site (as I'm sure you would be able to through Microsoft Update/WSUS).

Thanks!

I received that error in a corporate environment, too. I checked the proxy
settings, then I checked the corporate firewall. No joy.

Then I did a packet capture on the machine and clearly saw that Windows
Defender was making an HTTP session to my SUS server and was getting a 404
Not Found.

SUS simply doesn't have the catalog or the files that Windows Defender is
looking for.

Thanks for doing that work. I don't have an answer for whether it is
possible to configure around this issue yet. Possibly searching these
groups on the key "SUS" and looking for responses from Microsoft staff would
yield some info--not sure.

8024002b error

I am facing the same problem, have tried the same workaround, still "no updates" after 76 days...

Another PC in my office had no problem getting updates through Windows Defender though.
