Unable to send Email using Outlook 2003

When I try to send an Email with an attachment I get the following error -
Task - Sending ' reported error (0x8004210B): The operation timed out waiting
for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive
this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider
(ISP). I am using Outlook 2003 with all updates. Anyone know how to fix.

Done that already and verified that there are no network issues?

Make sure you disable all scanning of your mail with your antivirus program.
