Unable to resize truncated install window

When installing some programs, not all, the installation
window is truncated and unable to be resized. It usually
shows just the upper left portion of the window. This
happens with MS Antispyware install (previously Giant) and
Corel 12 suite among others. I find it difficult to explain
but here is a try. As a result it is hard to look up. I
have searched Microsoft and others for solutions with no
luck. I suspect a corrupted dll. I have a lot of programs
installed previously on this computer so reloading Win2000
is a painful option. Upgrading to WinXP might be a better
option but I would prefer to learn what is causing the
problem. The computer runs Win2000, v5.00.2195 with SP4
and with 1gb RAM on AMD Athlon XP 1800+.
The borders of the install window is set and cannot be
changed but it does not display all of the form entry
fields. You can use tab keys to move around but cannot see
what is happening. The normal elevator bars and expand or
contract icons are not there. The same install works fine
on another Win2000 machine.
Thanks for your help.

Can you describe what you screen resolution settings are--what size the
screen is set at? Do you know if you've modified such settings as the size
of the default screen font?

Because the beta1 product is based on Giants code, I would suspect that the
current installer may well change for beta2--so this may go away on its
own--perhaps it relates to a particular version of the installer which might
be in common between the current beta1 product and the Corel product you
mention.
