Unable to remove objects pasted into Excel from HTML grid

Copied & pasted an html page into Excel. Has little check boxes that will can
be checked, but not removed. Can't grab them, deleting columns or rows just
moves them over by one.

Any idea how to get rid of them? Would like to keep the rest of the data.
Have tried using every command or option found, must be missing something.

Thanks in advance,

There may be another way, but this is how I do it.

Right click in a toolbar and select the DRAWING toolbar.
You can use the Select Objects tool to select them individually, or add the
multiple Objects tool to select more than one.

Try this:

Press the [F5] key (shortcut to <edit><goto>)
Clcik the [special...] button
Check: objects
Click the [OK] button

That should select ALL objects on the worksheet.
Press the [Delete] key to remove them

Does that help?

why don't you try different way of putting things in excel.
open excel, data-import external data-new web query, put your url and press
enter
select checkbox with part of web page which you want and click import then
ok

We just ran into this and the above solutions didn't work. Here's what worked for us.

Go to VIEW > TOOLBARS > CONTROL TOOLBOX

Then click the Design Mode icon (a square, pencil & ruler)

Then you should be able to click on items and delete them.

If when you're going to remove something and it "gives you the finger" (i.e. - to take you to a web page for example), then hold the CTRL key while clicking on it and it should let you select it and then delete it.

Good luck.
