When i try to open MS Office outlook 2003 I get an error message. C:\Progam
files\Microsoft Office\Office 11\ADDINS\msspc.ecf Have uninstalled
thenreinstalled but of no use, am still unable to open Outlook.
Any help in simple form would be of immense use.
Thanks.

Why not uninstall again and then run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
to make sure that the program is fully uninstalled? Maybe manually delete
the Office program folders, etc. You can get the utility here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

However, I found a reference that if you log into the PC as a different user,
Outlook will open, so it could be user related. If possible, perhaps just
create a new user profile for this user. Of course you'll have to copy over
some profile settings and docs, but maybe this will do the trick.

Thanks!

With Outlook closed, try deleting the (hidden) file
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\extend.dat

msspc.ecf is a plug-in for the really old Schedule+ that came with old
versions of Outlook. I don't know when it was discontinued. I don't
have it for OL2002 and thought it disappeared after the OL95 version.
However, if you've been continually upgrading from a prior version of
Outlook then it is possible that file is still hanging around.

It is a text file that you can look at using Notepad. It refers to
msspc32.dll to find its functions. While I have the old .ecf and .dll
files still around on my hard drive, Schedule+ is not listed as an
available plug-in for me to enable it when Outlook loads. Start
Outlook in its safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe") and then go into
options to disable that plug-in. If that doesn't work, go into
Add/Remove Programs applet, MS Office, Change, and disable the
Schedule Plus entry under the Outlook component. You will probably
need to have your Office install CD available to do the setup change.
