Outlook 2003 will not start.

Outlook 2003 was working fine. I just tried it and it will not start. Error
message "the extension configuration file C:\programfiles\microsfot
office\office11\addins\msspc.ecf could not be installed. There is an error
in the syntax or format of the file." Then I get "The file addin Mmsspc.ecf
is missing or not valid". I've tried using the CD to repair this problem and
it doesn't correct the problem. What can I do now.

You upgraded from an earlier version? - the addin is for an earlier version
of OL -
Try starting OL with the safe switch & remove the addin.
Also, according to another post, check OL is not running in Compatibility
mode.

Thanks for the info. I have not upgraded OL and am not running in
Compatibility mode.
I finally got fed up and returned to an earlier (1 week) version and
everything is fine. Thank for your input.
