unable to open or download files

I just started getting the error message "IE was not able to open this
Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found.
Please try again later." from sites that I have recently visited and
downloaded forms or files from. I haven't changed anything on my PC to do
this on purpose. I verified that I accept all cookies and changed my security
to the least prohibitive. I have disabled my pop up blocker. What else can I
change to be able to access these pages? The sites I'm going to are not
secure, and not restricted by passwords, etc.

Check for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). It may be a
hidden file. Open it with Notepad and remove any line referencing the site.
Or, rename HOSTS to OLDHOSTS
