unable to logon to windows xp

darren

Windows startup i am presented with a network logon box. This is the first
time i have encountered this with xp, normally it just goes straight to the
welcome screen. The logon box is labelled 'Log on to windows' with the
available fields 'user name' and 'password'. Situated across the bottom are
the following buttons OK , CANCEL , SHUTDOWN OPTIONS (CANCEL is not
highlighted therefore this is not currently an option, OPTIONS
hides/displays the SHUTDOWN option).

FYI. No passwords have ever been set for any of the 'user accounts' nor
Administrator account. There are a total of five accounts excluding the
admin account. Each time i attempt to log on to a user account (ie Typing
user name as 'danny' and leaving the password box blank) my wallpaper can be
briefly seen prior to reverting back to the 'Log On To Windows' screen. The
same applies to the Administrator account. The same applies when booting to
safe mode.

As it stands i cant use my pc because i cant log on. How am i able to log on
to windows from here when it keeps rejecting all user accounts - i have no
passwords (just used a blank at setup) How can i roll back to a restore
point if i cant log on to windows.
