Unable to Log into Windows after Upgrade to Win2k

I had just upgraded my OS from Windows ME to Windows 2000
Professional. Found that i was unable to login to the
Windows with either the default username or even the
Administrator username. I am sure i have the correct
password in use. Upon entering the password, it will hav
the usual loading screen, and then saving settings screen.
Following that, it's back to the logon windows which
prompts for username and password again.

Anyway i can get into the Windows without the logging
process? Is there a way for me to retrieve some of my
important documents before i try reformatting the OS again?

You can try searching these groups to find a solution, however, it looks
like you probably should have done a backup first. If you've got enough
disk space in the system, you should be able to install Windows 2000
again, from scratch, in a different folder than the one you used for the
upgrade. That will allow you to access the documents and files you need
to keep. Back them up, and then wipe the hard drive and start over.
Failing that, if you've got another computer you could put the disk in
that computer to access your docs and files. Keep in mind that if the
file system is NTFS, the second computer will need to be running XP,
2000, or 2003.
