Unable to locate a given file type (mid)

I just installed vanbasco karaoke 2.53, but when I double click it doesnt
start.
Specifically, when I try to open a .mid file with this application (from
context menu, open with...) on any .mid file an error window comes up: Unable
to locate the ".mid file"...

How can I fix it please?
(if I choose opening by wmp it works regularly, sound is ok)

Have you tried uninstalling it? Do error checking on the drive, and a
defrag, then reinstall it.

yes, several times, no way.
I have tried to create a new account but it doesnt work either (I can barely
see a program window opening and closing right away).
Error check: volume is not corrupted
Defrag done a couple of times (some file was excluded it says, but no one is
listed)

By using process monitor I found out that the process fixcamera.exe is
responsible.
I have suspended it and vanbasco works!
Now I have another thing to decide: what is that?
Can I avoid loading it at startup, how? Or will it affect something else?
