unable to join: age of empires II

I have played <single player> setting without any problem.

But my computer runs winXP-with service pack1 <UNABLE TO
JOIN> when I HOST or try to JOIN a multi-players LAN game.
The other win2000 and win98 computers can hosting or
joining with each-other without any problem. WHY???!!!

Help!! Has anyone out there got a solution for this?




P.S: With Diablo2 game, this computer could host or join
LAN game WITHOUT any problem.

Hello lp2ham,

Have you tried updating your Age Empires 2 game to the latest update. Go to
the official Microsoft Age of Empires 2 and download the update there.

If still fails, try disabling your current firewall

Jose: yes and yes, I have done all of that.

I have had update this game to the latest patch and
disabled the firewall that build-in with winXP.

would it be the security policies or any services in XP
prevent this???
