Unable to install

I have tried to install Defender with no success. I have got as far as
"Installing Windows Defender- This will take several minutes" and it just
sits there. I will not allow me to cancel. I have to swicth of my pc manually
to start again.....any ideas??

Yes--try shutting down your antivirus's real-time protection for long enough
to get the install done. This has worked for a couple of folks. If it does
for you, let us know what antivirus and version.
