ON the desktop at work I'm using windows 98SE installed,
while running the XP INstallation, setup aborts with this
message,"Setup can not find a previous version of Windows
installed on your computer . setup needs to verify that
you qualify to use this upgrade product.
The PC is in an Office run by volunteers, the person who
burchased the PC and operated it, died a year ago. I'm
almost convinced that he upgraded it to Windows 98se, but
not a clean installation. And I can not find the 98se
disk anywhere in the office.
I ran Norton Utilities Systems configuration and it
reported that it has installed Windows 4.10 (build 2222
a) DOS 7.10.
The PC with Windows 98SE runs fine, clould it be that
Windows 98se was not registered, and if we do not have
the Disk, is it possible to unistall 98SE and get it back
to Windows 98? maybe then I can install XP.
Any help you can give me is much apprecieted.
