Unable to install Security Update KB885835

I am trying to appl the critical security updates for my Win 2000 server with
SP 4. Other critical updates are intalled successfully.But this KB885835 is
not beig applied. After downloading, it says, "Update patch failed" . I tried
this man times, but in vain.

Download the patch and install it instead of using Windows Update. In the Windows Update display there should be a link for more... Follow that to download the patch.

when I installed it after downloading from the link you gave, it didnt give
any error message. So, I 'think' it is successfully installed. But it didnt
show up in the "Installation History" of the windows update website. Is this
a problem ? Please let me know abt it.

If it is not in the list of offered updates on Windows Update, then you are OK.
