unable to get "notepad" to run in Windows XP

Paul

When I try to open Notepad I get an error
message. "C:\WINDOWS\system32\csrss.exe" "The
C:\WINDOWS\system32\csrss.exe application cannot be run
in Win32 mode."
Any ideas on how to get Notepad working again?

What is your notepad shortcut pointing to???

Can you run notepad directly (ie. navigate to c:\windows
and double click on notepad.exe)

Now I'm getting an error message"Cannot find file
C:\NOTEPADE.EXE"
Is there anyway to reinstall it, or any way to get it
back?
Thanks for the help!

NOTEPAD.EXE isn't in the system root directory,
look here: C:\WINDOWS. Have you tried Mal's
suggestion to double click Notepad.exe from the
C:\WINDOWS directory?

HTH,
Dick
