I have been attcked by trojan that disconnects me from dial up internet
whenever I try to go to a Microsoft site. It has also added its own internet
connection "z-connect".
I keep getting a msg telling me to go to www.restorefix.com.
I have re loaded windows am now running on xp sp1and am unable to get the
updates. I wanted to try re formatting the hard drive but the command was
rejected.
Grateful for any advice

partition,create one,press ESC key,type:EXIT Reboot to xp cd,select
install xp,
delete partition, create, let xp format & install auto...Also,open internet

Hi Andrew
Thanks for your post. However the computer will not allow me to boot from
cd.Nor can I access any microsoft sites - the virus disconnects my connection.

Download Malwarebytes and run it. You will have to be in safe mode
--press F8 continuously during boot up. then run the program it should
remove it. I am surprised that your anti-virus software vendor could
not tell you how to remove it.
