Unable to create page file

Windows XP Pro - All of a sudden my page files will not
set. I reset them and when I reboot the settings indicate
that I they exist but I still get a warning regarding
virtual memory is low and I should set them. Under the
performance panel, even though I have allocated upto 1024
on two separate drives, the allocations at the bottom say
it is still "0". I have rebooted many times and stil have
no paging files. The systems says it is allocating
temporary page files and seems to work fine.

Open Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs and look for an entry for
the Intel Application Accelerator. If it is listed then select it and
click on Add/Remove to uninstall it. Reboot the computer and your
problem should be resolved.

And if the Intel Application Accelerator was installed then you should
go to www.intel.com and download the latest version of the Intel
Application Accelerator and install it.

If that does not resolve the issue then see MVP Alex Nichol's article
on virtual memory in Windows XP at http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpvm.htm
especially the section dealing with problems.

Good luck

Yes and thank you for the reply but I have already tried
all these fixes. XP Pro still gives me a "0" allocated
page file. I tried setting it up in safe mode and as
administrator. Here may be a clue - Event Viewer, System
Logs the following - ( it reports 3 of these errors and I
can assume it is because I have 2 HD's, the second is
partioned into 2 )

The Logical Disk Manager Service failed while registering
for device handle notifications on device \\?
\storage#volume#1&30a96598&0&signature8ebe8ebeoffset7e00le
ngth1c9f01c400#{53f5630d-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}.
Win32 Error: 1066

LDMS - why should I have these errors?

Check with the manufacturer of your computer/motherboard for any
updated IDE drivers for your computer and install them.

Try booting in Safe Mode and opening Control Panel - System - Hardware
- Device Manager.

Browse through each device category looking for duplicated entries
and/or entries for non-existant devices. Where duplications exist
delete all repeat all instances of that device. Also delete
everything that does not actually exist.

If there is a category for "Other devices" delete everthing in this
category.

Note: "IRQ holder for PCI IRQ Steering" type entries in the System
Devices category can be legitimately duplicated and need not be
deleted.

This needs to be done in Safe Mode because devices that are only
partially installed or have other major problems often do not show up
in Device Manager on a normal startup.

Good luck
