Unable to create dial up connection

Hi,

I've tried creating a dial up connection but encountered
this problem. Here are the steps I had done:

Start->Settings->Network Connections, then I
clicked "Create a new connection", then the New Connection
Wizard came out, I clicked Next, selected "Connect to the
Internet" option, clicked Next again, selected "Set up my
connection manually", clicked Next again and to my
surprise the "Connect using a dial-up modem" option is
disabled, only the "Connect using a broadband connection
that is always on" is enabled making me incapable of
setting up my dial up connection.

I'm using Windows XP Professional.

Hoping for your reply.

Did you check to be sure that your modem is installed and
listed (talking) properly to the computer before trying to
set up the network connection?

I tried running diagnostics and the modem seemed to be
properly working. Is the "Connect using a dial up modem"
option normally disabled if I have no modem installed or
there are problems with the modem?

The first of these is common, and is usually triggered by upgrading from XP
home to XP pro, or by re-installing XP over itself.

You Cannot Create a Network Connection After You Restore Windows XP

The fix it so re-apply SP1.

This one also comes up occasionally:
