Unable to connect to the internet.

Seems that I am not the only one experiencing this
problem!! I, too also run CounterSpy, as well as Spybot
Search and Destroy, AdAware, and other programs. All have
continued to run smoothly along side of this Beta
AntiSpy; or so I thought. AntiSpy runs daily scans and
reports no findings. When looking for an unrelated
computer glitch, I noticed that AutoUpdater has not been
updating for the past FEW WEEKS!!. It tells me it can't
connect to the internet. Obviously I am on the net right
now! Any ideas? Or is Bill Gates too busy making new
money to deal with the people that made him soo rich!
Microsoft, we all Need a patch for this thing. How about
it? (e-mail address removed)

Also, ensure that your web browser (Internet Explorer) is
on line. Open IE, click File and ensure that Work Off line
is not checked.

I don't know what's going on here, but many users of CounterSpy along with
Microsoft Antispyware report no longer being able to update Microsoft
Antispyware.

What was the last successful build to download? Check out help-> about and
verify with the following KB:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;892519

Let me know if help-> about is not updating, and you have the latest
signature file, or if you are completely out of date.

I have the same problem, and also have other AS programs,
including Counterspy and Spysweeper (Trial). There are no
conflicts that I can detect, but my Microsoft AS cannot
connect to the internet.

So far I have received no help with the problem.

In the Help file of MSAS it talked about firewalls, and
hardware firewalls. It made a point that ports 80 and
443 must be open. I do not have any idea as to how to
determine that or what to do about it.

So far, I am not liking the program. It came on my
computer, but unless this update problem is fixed I will
just disable it.
I have read of a couple of horror stories when someone
has both MSAS and Counterspy and tried to uninstall
either.
