Unable to configure a dial-up connection using XP Home...

Brad Pears

I have an XP "home" machine that has an internal 56k modem. Recently my son
was frigging around on it and now the dial-up connection to my provider is
missing. When I went to add the connection again, I select "Setup my
connection manually" but on the next page where I would normally select
"connect using a dial-up modem", that option and the one under it "connect
using a broadband connection that requires a username and password" are
greyed out and the only available option is the third one? Why would the
dial-up connection be greyed out and how can I reinstate that?

The modem is fine.

Thanks,

Brad

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
