Hi All,
I have a terminal server that does not seem to complete the logon process.
Here is the general scenario:
1) Establish connection to server
2) Enter logon credentials
3) Wait for desktop to appear, but it doesn't.
When this happens, logging on at the physical server console produces the
same results. There is no way to get to a desktop. Those users who got to
the desktop BEFORE the problem occurs never know there is a problem. All
apps work just fine for those folks.
No error in the event logs. The secuity log shows a successful logon so I
am thinking the error is occurring after authentication.
My only workaround so far is to reboot the server. Anyone have any ideas on
what process is going into la-la land? Perfmon does not show excessive CPU.
The server seems to hover around 15%. Lots of memory is also available.
It is not based on user load because I have seen this occur after a reboot
when only 1 person logged on. I rebooted and had the same person log back
on and the problem did not show. I am not using roaming profiles and I do
run UPHClean (lastest version).
