Unable to change Wallpaper Background??

HI.

For some time now, I have been unable to change my background wallpaper in
XP Pro. I believe this problem has started after I installed Service Pack 2.
When I go into Display Properties, and then go to browse. I pick the new
wallpaper I want, but it just doesn't accept the new pic.

BTW, all of the pics I try and pic, are large JPEG's. And yes, I have even
tried using smaller size pics, and no luck?? Anyone have any ideas....??

Thanks a lot.

Also...

It seems the only way it will accept a new wallpaper, is if the picture is
on a website, while I'm online. So I tried to open the pic I want, in a
Internet Explorer Window and just open the file that is on my PC. But for
some reason, IE6 refuses to display the picture.

Try running disk cleanup, then see if you can change the
picture. As I understand, jpeg images are converted to
bitmaps for the desktop, so you need to have adequate disk
space in the temp folders.

Use jpeg files that are of moderate size 640x480 to
1024x768, if the picture is bigger, convert it to a smaller
size.

SP2 shouldn't cause this except if your temp file space
allocation is full.
Hope this helps.

IE SP2 blocks images that have tags attached that could be
privacy/security risks. You should see a line on the top of
the screen about show pictures or download images.
