Unable to change home page comment

I thought this might be helpful:
My computer began defaulting to an aol home page and would not allow me to
correct it to what I wanted. Something like: "aol/people."
I fixed this by starting my computer in 'safe mode', then opening internet
explorer and resetting my home page while in safe mode to what I wanted it to
be.
Now, in normal mode, it's using the correct home page.
One note:
The current home page, while correct, is still somehow not changeable in
normal mode. If I decided to change again, I would have to go back in safe
mode. (I wish I knew how to fix that)

Many security programs such as Spybot S&D, AdAware, Spywareblaster etc...
have features that prevent changes from being made to your home page. If you
have any of these programs, or similar ones, you may poke around the
settings and find what you are looking for.
