unable to change default association for 'File Folder'

Default file type "File Folder" (Extensions = "None") is
set to "Find" and I am unable to change. Need reset to
Explore ... but cannot find in registry and advanced
options does not allow deletion or edit ... even with
admin privileges.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Type "REGSVR32 /i SHELL32" in the RUN box and it should be reset to 'open'. Then, 'Folders' [not File Folders] > Advanced > set explore as default.
